A reflection on an epic journey in 2012 for Big Bitch Formula

2012, a break out year for Big Bitch Formula. We had our booth at all three Maryland shows. The first being the NPC Maryland State Championships in June (our second outing overall, since the birth of BBF). It was a big show and it was the beginning of a soon to be rabid following of bitch’n customers and supporters. Our second show was the NPC Jay Cutler Classic in August. We actually sold out of a couple flavors during the morning show and had to go back to the BBF warehouse and bring back more for the evening show. We killed it. BBF also added three phenomenal team players to the BBF family, Jerry Ward, Kari Keenan, and Henry Fitzpatrick. Our pre-workout formula, N.O. Bitch’n was also released at the Jay Cutler show. The final appearance we made was the NPC Shawn Ray Grand Prix in October. Not as many athletes competed, with it being late in the year, and most competitors are getting ready for the NPC Nationals in November. BBF made some kick ass contacts and did some major networking so that Big Bitch Formula will grow even bigger in 2013. BBF has big plans for 2013.

We want to thank everyone who has supported us, believed in us, and purchased our stand alone products. Our promise to you is to always keep it real. We aren’t just another supplement company, nor a supplement company that will mislead you with false advertising to make a sale. Big Bitch Formula welcomes IFBB pro Fred “Biggie” Smalls to team BBF !!!

We here at Big Bitch Formula are pleased to announce that IFBB pro, Fred “Biggie” Smalls has joined team BBF.

Freddie and I go back about 20 years, to our college days. He was the power lifting beast and I was the body builder in the campus gym. Freddie Smalls was soon inspired to give body building a shot, and he shot straight to the top, earning his IFBB pro card in 2010.

Now in 2012, he has qualified for the IFBB Mr. Olympia. An IFBB pro’s competitive dream, to step on the prestigious stage at the Mr. Olympia. Big Bitch Formula couldn’t be more happy to welcome not only a great IFBB body builder, but a great family (married with 4 children) and friend.

We here at Big Bitch Formula wish Fred “Biggie” Smalls the best of success at the 2012 IFBB Mr. Olympia in Las Vegas.

It’s coming….a pre-workout formula that isn’t a witches brew ! ! !

Whatever pre-workout formula you are currently using, do me a favor, look at the ingredient list and see if you can count on two hands how many ingredients are added to make it a “one of a kind” formula. I think it’s a safe bet to say that 98% of all pre workout formulas have at least 20-30 ingredients added to it. With all of those ingredients, how the hell do you know what is really working ?

Of course all pre workout formulas contain caffeine unless it is a caffeine free formula. Caffeine is the grandfather of all stimulants. In moderation it works wonders for central nervous system stimulation, focus and endurance. Most pre workout formulas also contain certain amino acids, herbs, and neurotransmitters that are suppose to stimulate the brain as well as help it focus. Unfortunately, most formulas are simply “witches brew”, due to the fact that supplement companies throw so many “things” into their formula that a lot of ingredients create a war zone in peoples brains and hearts.

I have tried pretty much every pre workout wonder out there. I can say with no BS, that yes, all of them gave me energy, but the energy wasn’t a smooth, leveled out energy level. It was more of a “wired” type of energy, that was uncomfortable and had the opposite effect on my ability to focus. Not great for kick ass workouts.

Wow, it sounds like I am totally bitchin’. Maybe I am, but with our soon to be released pre workout formula, there ain’t gonna be NO Bitchin’ going on, only rave reviews. Why ? Because in our formula, we aren’t packing it with a ton of crap, hoping it works. We have formulated the basic, tried and true ingredients to harmonize with each other, to create a leveled out and sustained energy level and focus.

Get ready to switch to a NO Bitchin’ pre workout formula…your workouts will never be the same again ! ! !

What makes a BIG bitch ?

What is it that makes a BIG bitch ? Is it the size of an individual ? Is it how much weight someone can lift from point A to B ? Is it a dude with a 20″ arm or is it just a chic that really just gets on your fucking nerves ? The answer is NO to all of the above. In the eyes of myself and the crew at Big Bitch Formula, this is what makes a BIG bitch:

  • The teenager who doesn’t follow the pack, who is different, who creates their own path and destiny and never looks back.
  • The college kid who isn’t puking at a frat party, but is puking after a gut wrenching set of squats.
  • The single mothers in the world that keep putting food on the table and a roof over their kids heads.
  • The disabled who make no excuses, who continue to lead FULL and gratifying lives.
  • The soldiers and veterans of the USA who fight for OUR freedom and safety.
  • The police men and women and firefighters, who risk their lives for OUR well being.
  • My 64 year old client who continues to battle Parkinson’s Disease daily in and out of the gym.
  • My 62 year old client who after having both knees replaced at the same time, came back after 3 months off for rigorous therapy and now has stronger legs than before.

You get the freakin’ picture ! Being a BIG bitch is more than just the size of our muscles, it’s the size of our hearts. Jack3D BANNED

Our FDA is at it again! Jack3D, Napalm, Hemo Rage Black, Gaspari Nutrtion Spirodex and others  … BANNED!! We can only wonder what Eli Lilly will introduce as a nasal decongestant next?!This time the FDA has banned DMAA or also referred to as 1,3-dimethylamylamine, methylhexanamine, or geranium extract. The agency additionally warned the companies that synthetically-produced DMAA is not a “dietary ingredient” and, therefore, is not eligible to be used as an active ingredient in a dietary supplement. In February 2012, we read about the deaths of two US soldiers who collapsed during physical training prompted a military investigation of the popular supplement that was found in their systems. This prompted the Department of Defense to pull products containing DMAA from on-base stores pending an investigation. There is still no link between DMAA and the medical conditions reported by military medical providers. Makes you say HMMM… Glad we didn’t use it!!

Protein and Muscle Growth

Wow! I didn’t say endurance athletes needed more protein than strength, power and body builders…In fact, it’s the opposite.  These BITCHES need more! It provides improved stimulus for muscle growth. In order for the body to perform this, the body must be in positive nitrogen balance … meaning that the body is retaining more protein than is excreted or as described early …used for fuel. Less means slower gains in strength, size, mass or/ and will result in muscle loss despite all of your hard ass training! And hear this PEEPS…the body will adapt to consistently high protein intake by…Yep, converting or oxidising surplus AAs for energy. So drink your BBF and GROW BIG! Endurance Training Protein Requirements

Drinking protein isn’t just for Body Builders, it’s equally important for high intensity athletics as well. Protein requirements for intense and prolonged training increases for two reasons: your body will breakdown protein when your muscle glycogen runs low; after approx 60-90 minutes of endurance exercise, AAs glutamate and BCAAs will be used for energy. In fact, leucine is converted into alanine, which is converted into glucose. The glucose is transported to the exercising muscles where it is used for energy. In fact, protein will contribute up to 15% of your energy production when glycogen stores are low; normally it accounts for around 5%. The second reason and more important, additional protein is needed for the repair and recovery of muscle tissue … so get your drink on, BITCHES! ‘cause THE FORMULA is what the coach has ordered!

What are BCAAs?

What are amino acids (AAs)? We get this question a lot …when you eat protein it is broken down into smaller units called single amino acids (AAs) and dipeptides (two amino’s linked together). From here it gets a little more complex… we have 20 (AAs) that are the building blocks of protein and can be combined in various ways to form hundreds of different proteins in the body.  Twelve of the (AAs) can be made in the body from others;  called non-essential amino acids (NEAAs). The remaining eight are known as essential amino acids (EAAs) meaning they must be consumed through your diet. So we have your (NEAAs)and (EAAs), but you always hear about (BCAAs) …Branched-chain amino acids include three (EAAs) valine, leucine and isoleucine and are directly responsible for one-third of muscle protein and are the vital substrate for (NEAAs) glutamine and alanine which are released in large quantities during your intense training to activate muscle synthesis/anabolic hormone production and reduce muscle breakdown.
